Abstract

Faculty of Art and De AURÉA is a biomimicry-inspired armchair that embodies poetic elegance, organic intelligence, and quiet luxury. Named after the Latin word aurum, which means"golden," AURÉA evokes the warmth of honey, the richness of nature, and the serene sophistication of high-end living. It is designed as a sculptural yet functional lounge piece; it reflects both the harmony of the natural world and the refinement of contemporary design. Inspired by the intricate structure of honeycombs, AURÉA integrates geometric hexagonal motifs into its backrest and transparent side panels, echoing nature’s mastery of both form and function. Its dualtextured headrest shaped like golden honey cells gently cradles the user, while the soft, gold-patterned seat invites relaxation, reading, or simply watching the sky shift. AURÉA harmonises warm wood, resilient metal, and translucent inserts to create a piece that balances strength with serenity. The angled silhouette provides ergonomic support, while its breathable, open-frame design makes it perfectly suited for semioutdoor environments like balconies or verandas. More than just a seat, AURÉA is a celebration of mindful living where design serves not only the body but also the spirit. It invites users to slow down, reconnect with their senses, and dwell in a space that is both grounding and uplifting. By merging biomimicry intelligence with golden warmth, AURÉA becomes a timeless expression of where form meets feeling and nature meets nurture.
