Abstract

The internship at Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) under the Human Capital Department from 15 March to 1 September 2025, where the intern gained hands-on experience in key HR functions such as onboarding, managing sensitive employee documents, exit clearances, policy reviews, and strategic HR meetings. These responsibilities significantly enhanced the intern’s skills in data management, communication, organization, and critical thinking. MAG, a leading regional aviation group, operates across airlines, travel services, and aviation support, managing subsidiaries like Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, MAS Wings, MASkargo, MAB Engineering, and AeroDarat Services. The organization is known for its strong focus on ethical governance, customer service, sustainability, and employee development. A SWOT analysis identified strengths such as strategic integration, employee- centered policies, and strong subsidiary performance, while challenges include limited airport space, delayed fleet upgrades, high competition from low-cost carriers, and rising fuel costs. However, opportunities exist in digitalization, cargo growth through e-commerce, international route expansion, and strategic partnerships. Overall, the internship provided valuable exposure to HR practices and corporate strategy, with recommendations to enhance intern knowledge-sharing and automate more HR processes for better accuracy and efficiency.
