Abstract

As the last semester required students to carry out an internship programme, I am honoured to choose FGV Johor Bulkers Sdn Bhd as my internship place and the duration for 6 months. There are two core businesses for FGV Johor Bulkers which are liquid bulk where it is handling of vegetable oil-based product and dry bulk specialised in handling warehouse meanwhile the core competency as FGV offer transport and forwarding services, providing complete logistic solutions (FGV Johor Bulkers. 2025). Additionally, as an internship student I fulfill various roles and responsibilities within the human resources and admin department such as assisting staff to check the employees salary, enter data on meal allowances, contact and assist candidates to interview for new job positions. Apart from that, I also participated and gave a hand when the company held any events especially handled by the human resources department. Moreover, other than doing the roles and responsibility, there is an objective for me to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and also threats regarding FGV Johor Bulkers using PESTEL which are political, economic, social, technology, environment, and legal. Also, FGV Johor Bulkers is one of the companies stated within Johor Port that can be sure it is more secure and attractive to export and import activities, has limited brand visibility compared to competitors, with the opportunities by the government incentives for infrastructure upgrades and chances of more competitors using advanced technology.
