Abstract
This study aims to improve the ability of students to read for drilling techniques aids among LINUS students. Subjects of the study consisted of five students selected by LINUS record student achievement. Respondents were detected through screening tests reading LINUS questions from the Ministry of Education. This study was conducted using a combination of interview and observation by questionnaire for interpersonal collecting qualitative data. Respondents were low achievers in reading test performed poorly in terms of encoding (spelling) words that are not recognized. Method drills hopefully help respondents to master reading skills. Use of teaching aids as a supporting tool for achieving the objectives of the study. The findings of this study showed no increase in the level of the respondent after reading techniques used drills. This increase cap be proved by a comparison of the results of pre-test and post-test. Drilling Technique can also increase the confidence of respondents after mastering reading skills. The teaching aids used to motivated the respondents. Respondents were actively involved in teaching and learning. Teacher interaction with respondents and respondents interaction with the material.
