Waqf-IS: a digital innovation for efficient registration and monitoring of Waqf Ilmu Series

At Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), the Waqf Ilmu Series is a series of forums for knowledge-sharing programs aligned within an academic context. However, ineffective manual mechanisms have limited its administrative procedures, especially in participant registration and monitoring. To improve the overall administration of Waqf Ilmu Series events, measure participant involvement, and expedite registration, this project presents Waqf-Ilmu Series (WAQF-IS), a web-based platform. The system was created using an organised process that included web development and user-centered design. It has been successfully deployed in various operational programs. By facilitating more access to structured, inclusive, and effectively run educational programs, this innovation directly advances Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). Incorporating digital technologies into event management simultaneously advances Sustainable Development Goals 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and encourages productivity, creativity, and the development of digital skills among university students. Through digital transformation, WAQF-IS demonstrates the function of waqf as a catalyst for institutional sustainability in addition to its use as a benevolent tool.
