Yayasan Negeri Sembilan

From March 3 to August 15, 2025, I undertook an internship with Yayasan Negeri Sembilan in the Investment Department. During my tenure, I gained valuable real-life knowledge and practice of property and asset management with a foundation related to the government. My main duties were helping to supervise and monitor car parks owned by Yayasan Negeri Sembilan. This included collection of rental payments, and creating adequate records of tenants using the foundation's car parking spaces. Additionally, I managed three oil palm estates located in Bukit Penarikan, Bukit Taisho and Air Baning. I was able to monitor the performance of the plantation and management of rental agreements, and I learned about land leasing and investment in agricultural assets. Finally, I was managing administration and rentals of 19 retail lots owned by Yayasan Negeri Sembilan, along with other commercial premises in the foundation's ownership. This consisted of maintaining leases and payments records for the lots, and correspondence with tenancies of the lots or thing ran with the lots. All in all, the internship concluded with better understanding of investment asset management, working on my administrative and communication skills with experiences of management of farming and real estate assets from practical experiences. It represents an important learning journey that has further developed me and set me up for what different career options of employment would show in investment management and property.
