Abstract
On 20 November 2020, Tuan Moeis Basri, the Vice President of Persatuan Peguam Syarie Malaysia (PGSM) and a Faculty of Law UiTM alumnus, inspired the students in his talk. In discussing the essential requirements to become a Syarie lawyer, he touched, among others, on the eligibility requirements for admission as a Syarie lawyer, the conflict of jurisdiction between the Syariah and the civil courts, and the challenges faced by Syarie lawyers in Malaysia.
