UiTM Sabah sustainability programme: Scienergy’s Day “Green Walk”

On 23 May 2025, the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSG) at UiTM Sabah, in collaboration with the UiTM Green Centre (UGC), successfully hosted scienergy’s day “Green Walk” as part of its campus sustainability initiative. Held at the science and agrotechnology laboratory complex (KOMSAT) and nearby staff housing areas, the programme attracted over 55 participants, including students and staff. The event aimed to instil awareness about the importance of a “Zero Waste” campus environment while fostering closer bonds within the UiTM community. participants walked up to 1 km around the campus, collecting litter in targeted areas such as KOMSAT, student hostels, and staff quarters. This effort, termed the “Green Walk,” served as a practical step toward nurturing a cleaner, greener campus. to enhance engagement, a photography competition themed “environment” was also held, offering attractive prizes to winners. The event featured physical warm-up sessions, prize presentations, and was officially officiated and concluded by Ts. Siti Aminah Tengah@Mohammad, Head of Centre for Studies, FSG. This programme exemplified UiTM Sabah’s commitment to sustainability through education and community action.
