Abstract
In a meaningful environmental initiative, 60 students from the Applied Science Tapah Association (ASET), accompanied by six lecturers, participated in a mangrove planting programme on 28 June 2025 at the Tanjung Burung Forest Reserve, Pantai Remis. Organised in collaboration with the Perak State Forestry Department, this joint effort between aset and the UiTM Perak green campus committee successfully planted 500 mangrove trees. The programme aimed to raise awareness among students about the critical role of mangroves in preserving biodiversity, preventing coastal erosion, and supporting marine life. Beyond classroom learning, it offered hands-on experience in environmental conservation, aligning with the green campus goals related to climate action and sustainable ecosystems. The organisers expressed hope for more such student-led green initiatives in the future.
