Abstract

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative was designed to improve the spiritual education and practice of solat (prayer) for year 3 students in schools by implementing the Bestari Solat component of the J-QAF module from the Ministry of Education. The project focused on meeting key performance indicators for university social responsibility through three core objectives. Initially, it involved the creation and distribution of tailored educational materials, such as booklets and videos, to aid year 3 students in comprehending and practicing Solat effectively. Following this, the project facilitated workshops and training sessions led by experts to offer practical guidance and rectify common errors in Solat practice, thereby enhancing learning through direct interaction. Additionally, the project worked closely with school administrators and educators to embed Solat education within the school curriculum and daily routines, fostering a supportive environment for consistent practice. The initiative yielded several significant benefits. It effectively instilled religious commitment and discipline among young students, contributing to their overall moral and character development. The integration of Solat education into daily routines promoted regular practice and deepened students' spiritual engagement. The collaboration with educational institutions also strengthened community ties and demonstrated the university’s dedication to educational enhancement and social responsibility. Overall, the CSR project successfully aligned with the university’s performance indicators for social responsibility, highlighting its commitment to supporting both educational and community well-being.
