Abstract

The UiTM Johor Branch, Segamat campus successfully organized The Trash To Cash 2025 program on 11–12 June 2025 at Dataran PTDI 1, collecting an impressive total of 3,863.10 kg of recyclable materials and generating RM1,745.28 in sales. This initiative, which involved 15 departments and faculties, was part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote recycling awareness and environmental sustainability within the campus community. Participating units collected a variety of recyclable materials—including paper, plastic, and aluminium—and delivered them to a centralized collection point. The program not only raised eco-consciousness but also fostered collaboration and a sense of social responsibility among staff and students. Outstanding contributors were recognized during the clean city tour Johor 2030 Awards Ceremony, organized by SWCORP Johor. The facility management division secured first place, contributing 1,482.2 kg of recyclables. Prizes for the top five performers were sponsored by SWCORP. This impactful program reflects UiTM Segamat’s strong commitment to the national sustainability agenda. Its success sets a positive example for future campus-wide green initiatives and establishes a benchmark for other institutions aspiring toward environmental stewardship.
