Abstract

On 17 April 2025, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seksyen 16, Shah Alam-an adopted school of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSG), UiTM Shah Alam-hosted the “Science Street Day: Recycling Challenge-Turning Waste Into Opportunities” program. This initiative, aligned with the academic mission of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, was organized by the Engineering Polymer Technology Program. The event involved the participation of 100 form 3 students, 10 teachers, and 15 lecturers who served as facilitators. The program’s main activity was a group recycling competition, where students were challenged to create innovative products using waste materials such as plastic bottles, paper boxes, and used containers. Among the creative items produced were diy fans, water containers, decorative flowerpots, and mini aquariums. The students demonstrated exceptional creativity and enthusiasm, reflecting their strong commitment to exploring the concept of sustainability in a hands-on and practical manner.
