Abstract
The RESONANCE: Palestine Solidarity Visual Art Exhibition is led by lecturers from the Art Trivium Departments at UiTM Perak Branch’s College of Creative Arts. Featuring 19 artists at Kapal Lorek Art Space, this exhibition aims to showcase solidarity with the people of Gaza by utilizing visual art as a medium to express support for ongoing issues in Palestine. Adopting a Dadaist approach from the early 20th century, the exhibition reflects a movement that originated as a protest World War I perceived absurdity. Emphasizing Malaysian artists solidarity with Gaza, this initiative aligns with UiTM global agenda by raising awareness about international issues through art. Collaboration with industry partners has successfully initiated University Social Responsibility programs, fulfilling the university commitment to benefitting external communities and industries. In addition to showcasing support for Palestine through visual art, community activities include creating murals on the issue of Palestine donated to MERCY Malaysia and humanitarian mission sharing events with MERCY Malaysia. The Helix Model has been identified to explain the joint ventures that have been carried out between universities with institutions and industry. Overall, this exhibition demonstrates how visual art can be used as a powerful tool for expressing societal solidarity whilst contributing towards broader global objectives.
