Abstract
In today’s interconnected world, information sharing is increasingly prevalent. Understanding the factors that motivate individuals to engage in information-sharing behaviors is crucial. This study explored the extent to which young people are willing to share their knowledge and skills to assist others. While motivation and its impact on behavior have been widely researched, specific studies on information-sharing behaviors are limited. This research delved into the elements influencing motivation for information sharing, including social factors like reciprocity and reputation, intrinsic factors like personal development, and extrinsic factors like rewards and recognition. there were five independent variables of intention to share information among young adults that have been tested by the researcher which are Altruism (ALT), Instant News Sharing (INS), Entertainment (ENT), Self- Promotion (SEL), and Socialization (SOC). The study employed a quantitative survey to gather comprehensive data measuring the prevalence and intensity of various motivational factors. The results from the survey show only three variables have significant towards the intention to share information as they have p-value less than 0.05 which are ALT, SEL, and SOC. The findings have provided valuable insights for researchers seeking to foster a culture of information sharing, enabling them to develop effective strategies and interventions.
