Abstract

Universities often prioritize publishing in high-impact academic journals to improve global rankings, as these rankings emphasize research productivity and citation impact. However, academic articles usually reach a limited audience due to technical language and restricted access through paywalls. In contrast, newspapers whether print or digital can reach a much broader audience and have greater influence on public opinion, emotions, and even government policy. While scholarly publications contribute to theoretical advancement, newspaper articles play a crucial role in making ideas accessible to students, professionals, policymakers, and the public.
