PEWANI, KFC & SPK (B)

The Social and Welfare Bureau of PEWANI, UiTM Sarawak recently organised a Majlis Buka Puasa for the blind children of Sekolah Pendidikan Khas (Buta), Batu Lintang. A total of about 100 children and staff took part in the event which was held at the Saujana KFC Kuching on 27 October 2005. Mr Kenneth Lim, the Marketing Manager of KFC helped to arrange the venue and the special rate for the event. The Chairperson of PEWANI, Pn Siti, expressed her happiness at having been given the opportunity to celebrate the event with the underprivileged children. In her speech, she encouraged the children to endeavor for success despite their handicap. The headmistress was given a token amount of RM500.00 while the children were given toys, courtesy of KFC. Single mothers were also not forgotten. Each child of the single mothers received an amount of RM50.00 which was presented by the Chairperson of PEWANI.
