Briefing on the Diploma Lepasan ljazah Syariah dan Amalan (DLSA) Programme

On 29 February 2020, the Faculty organised a briefing to welcome new students of the Diploma Lepasan ljazah Syariah dan Amalan (DLSA) programme. Yang Arif Puan Noor Huda binti Rosian, the Chief Registrar and Judge of the Selangor Syariah High Court, who was invited to deliver a lecture entitled "Penerimaan Masuk Sebagai Peguam Syarie Selangor", explained at length, amongst others, about the eligibility requirements for admission as a Syarie lawyer in Selangor, the administrative structure of Selangor Syarie lawyers, the applicable laws and practice direction, and chambering requirements. An alumna of UiTMLaw, Puan Nurainie Haziqah binti Shafi'I, was also invited to give a talk on "Bagaimana Kerja Membangun Masyarakat". A partner at Fareez Shah & Partners and an active social advocate, she highlighted the significance and advantages of Syarie legal profession and imbued in students theimportance of contributing to community development as there are many segments of the society who do not have the means to pay for legal costs. Both sessions were indeed an eye opening and enriching experience to the new DLSA students.
