The Construction Law Report

The Construction Law Report is an annual publication by the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB). This report consists of construction industry related cases with case summaries derived from the High Court and the Appellate Courts. The Report aims to benefit construction industry players in the effort to raise awareness and keep them up to date with the latest practice in the industry through the dispute resolution process and decisions made by the superior courts in Malaysia. The Report also consists of insights on the current status of construction law in the country. A Technical Committee, comprising industry's experts, is formed on a yearly basis to oversee the publication of the report that particular year. The main functions of the Technical Committee are to provide the concept, organise segments in the report and choose exceptional cases with landmark decisions on issues in the construction industry. Apart from that, the task of Technical Committee is to choose commentators to comment on selected cases from the industry's professionals, namely engineers, architects and quantity surveyors, in addition to legal opinions provided by experts from the legal fraternity. UiTMLaw lecturer, Mr. Mu'iz Razak, has been on the Technical Committee for four years in a row since 2077 until 2020. He has also played the role as the Report's commentator since 2077 to 2020, to provide his insights from the perspective of an academician. The Technical Committee has also reached out to another member of UiTMLaw, Dr. Shahrizal Md. Zi,n to contribute to the 2079 Edition. Mr. Mu'iz Razak is currently working with the Technical Committee to publish the 2020 Edition of the Construction Law Report.
