Abstract

In the last 20 years or more, there have been substantial decreases in the number and rate of accidents in construction industry. Construction, on the other hand, remains a high-risk industry. Its reputation and image have been damaged by high incidence of accidents and deaths. The construction sector is still regarded as one of the most risky and deadly industries in the world (Hinze, 2008). Building companies, contractors, employees, ordinary people, no one is interested in and aware of the safety issues of construction practices (Hasan Sarkar, 2015). There is an overwhelming shortage of specific rules, regulations and guidance related to construction safety issues. According to Zhiqiang Li (2018), less supervision of the relevant management department is one of the problems. The aim of this research is to establish the implementation of safety management in construction projects to reduce accidents at project sites. The research methodology used in this research was quantitative method by using questionnaire survey. The data collected through a questionnaire survey were analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0.
