English language course for UiTM Samarahan support staff

The English Language Course for UiTM Samarahan support staff was successfully conducted in February, April and May 2016. This course was conducted as part of a continuous effort from the campus’s Training and Development Unit to promote the use of the English Language among the staff from the respective units on campus. The main objective of the course was to enhance the staff’s communication skills for social as well as occupational purposes. Nine lecturers were involved in conducting the course under the guidance of the Language Coordinator, Cik Norlida Nawawi. Three separate modules were prepared to cater for the different groups of staff on Scales B, C and D. The focus of the training module for the B scale officers was on public speaking. As such, the participants were exposed to the basic theory and strategies of public speaking that are required to fulfill their tasks at their respective units. Apart from that, group presentations were included to build up the participants' confidence and also to enable them to practise the strategies that they had learned from the course.
