Abstract

A total of 633 sets of personal protective clothing for hospital front liners around Klang Valley were successfully completed as a result of a joint venture between the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Art & Design, UiTM. The preparation of the personal protective equipment (PPE) took almost two months and it was conducted in two phases. The first phase was for the production of 513 units of head cover and in the second phase, a total of 120 units of PPE gowns were produced. A total of seven FSG laboratory staff were involved in this project using three units of industrial sewing machines which are located at the OM238 Textile Laboratory.
