Abstract

Angkor Wat is a complex of temple buildings located in Cambodia, known as one of the largest religious monuments in the world. This temple complex was constructed in the early 12th century (1113-114'$) as a state temple by King Suryavarman II in Yasodharapura, now known as Angkor, the capital of the Khmer Kingdom. The Angkor Wat temple complex comprises over a thousand buildings and is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Southeast Asia With the artistic beauty of ancient architecture, this temple was designated as a WorLd Heritage Site in 1552 by UNESCO. Furthermore, this historic temple also emerged as a finalist in the Seven Wonders of the World as designated by the New Open World Corporation (NOWC).
