Sharing of experience as a visiting scholar at Universitas Indonesia

It was like a dream when I received an invitation from Universitas Indonesia (UI), the No. 1 ranked university in Indonesia as a visiting scholar. My responsibilities included delivering a series of lectures at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and also as an invited speaker at the International Meeting on Advances in Materials (i-MAM) Seminar which was held from October 28 until November 1, 2019. The fully-funded program was organized by DTMM Faculty of Engineering main campus in Depok, Jakarta. The International Meeting on Advanced Materials started with postgraduates colloquium which I and two other scholars from Australia and Singapore were appointed as panels. A total of 30 Ph.D. students from the department presented their work. The programme continued with a journal writing workshop for postgraduates. We also discussed future research collaborations between UiTM-UI to strengthen the relationship and expand the network as agreed in the signed MoU. As the main agenda of the i-MAM seminar, I delivered a talk on Enhancing National Economics Growth with Eco-Products followed by Q&A session with staff and students. I was also given an opportunity to give lectures to undergraduate students for polymer composites and nano materials subjects. It was an honour for me to be able to share my knowledge and expertise, and at the same time promote FSG and UiTM at international level. - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Norasmah Hj. Surip.
