Abstract
Everywhere across the world, significant money is spent on building maintenance. It accounts for over 50% of the entire construction industry revenue in most nations (Lateef, 2009). To reduce the need for maintenance of the building, the issues that may occur need to be solved. However, the current main issue of low-cost residential is the problem of maintenance at the building. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and improve maintenance management in the low-cost high-rise residential building. Hence, the objective of this research is to identify the issues and challenges in maintenance of low-cost high-rise residential, to analyze the residents' satisfaction level on the maintenance of facilities in low-cost high-rise residential, and to suggest ways to improve the maintenance of low-costhigh-rise residential. To achieve all the objectives of this research, a quantitative method is used. A set of questionnaires is being distributed to the residents of the Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Laksamana, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hence, there were 200 sets of questionnaires distributed to the residents. The data were analyzed using SPSS and Likert Scale to obtain the mean and standard deviation.
