The management of conservation material for historical buildings in Malacca UNESCO World Heritage site

Conservation project is special and different from normal project in construction industry, which need specialized and expertise to handle the conservation works especially in materials matter. Conservation material is not same as others material in construction industry. It is because conservation material is extensive use in being made of the expertise and main materials available for conservation project. The materials are particularly important things and be the main factor need to be focus in managing conservation project of historical building. Therefore, when the project grows in size, the resources management of conservation material will be more complex in using appropriate tools to ensure materials supplied on time. The aim of this research is to establish conservation material management plan for historical building in Malacca UNESCO World Heritage Site. The objectives of this research are to identify current practices in managing conservation material for conservation of historical building in Malacca UNESCO World Heritage Site, to determine challenges faced during the management of conservation material for conservation of historical building in Malacca UNESCO World Heritage Site and to propose conservation material management plan for historical building in Malacca UNESCO World Heritage Site.
