Abstract

Microfinance has been considered as means of providing customers especially women with credit facilities that could not be obtained from other formal sources and hence empowers them through economic independence. This research was conducted to study Empowering Women Through Microfinance: A study on Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad. The objective of this research is to identify the relationship of this product in a financial institution which is to empower women. The core purpose of conducting this research also wants to give a suggestion and opinion for the financial institution for the improvement of this product. Through the research, researcher distributed questionnaire to 50 respondents which is all female that categorized as a customer of Bank Rakyat those have had an experience with micro financing product. In order to measure the relationship between microfinance and empowering women, theoretical framework was used in this case which included Microfinance Product as the independent variable while Empowering Women as dependent variable. After collecting the data and analyze it, the result shows that there is association or relationship between these independent variable and the dependent variable. At the end of this research, researcher has made a conclusion and find out some recommendation that appropriate for the organization due to the case and issue that faced by the organization.
