Abstract

Crab is synonymous with a hard shell and makes some of us who do not like to choose to eat it. This is because if wrong it can hurt us when to eat it. Crabs also have various types, but the crab is usually sold at the market is type crab Scylla olivacea species, and this type of crab is a lot of our country. Many do not know that crabs also undergo a change in skin shell. In Sabah business of crab is still not to develop much. The place that only have doing this business is at Papar, Kuala Penyu, and Kota Belud. There only several crab breeders that doing that business and most of them were supply hard skin crab. Because of that, this is one very good opportunity for us to carry out and start a new business as there is less competition in the business market. Apart from that it also involves the lover of seafood return to choose crab as one of their favourite seafood because of it is very easy to eat. Crab Scylla olivacea of this salt water area. This type of crab breeding if raised from seed to maturity and will be delayed to the extent of 1 to 6 months which is during the process of skin changes occur (moulting). Crab will reach a large size when shell is soft because the absorption of water occurs. Soft crab farming process starts from one step to other step, which is from salt water cultured (natural place) for fattening process. After the crabs reach a good size in level it will transferred to a dedicated tank which contains fresh water and oxygen for the observation of skin changes. The time frame for soft shell crab is one to four weeks and a good time to market the crabs. Soft crabs were placed into the fresh water is because of to make the process of skin changed to the original skin (hard) become slower. To maintain the health of crabs, the observation that often must be done and the water cycle also should be treated with care. Therefore, this type of business which is soft crab is still not too rapidly increased again in our country So we are taking the steps and a chance to lead this business to help expand this business at level of overseas. Other than that we also will extent it and thus can achieve our business objectives.
