2nd Borneo Research Education Conference (BREC) 2014

The 2nd Borneo Research Education Conference (BREC) was successfully organised on 26th and 27th August 2014 at the Islamic Information Centre, Kuching Sarawak. The conference, which was hosted by Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus, was coorganized with Universiti Teknologi MARA Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Curtin University, Sarawak Campus and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The theme for BREC 2014 was “Developing as a researcher by doing meaningful research." It had two key aspects: 1) Developing as a Researcher and 2) Doing Meaningful Research. Over 30 papers were presented during the two-day conference. Together with other organizing committee members from other four universities, Associate Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah and Dr Corina Joseph represented UiTM Sarawak as Conference Convenors. A few UiTM Sarawak lecturers were also involved as the conference paper reviewers. For two consecutive years, Dr Nurhani Aba Ibrahim was chosen as one of the recipients for the Best Reviewer Award.
