Department of emergency medicine 2022 wrap up

The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) officially began its service in Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM Puncak Alam (HASA), on 17th January 2022. The Grand Opening Ceremony was attended by several of the Head of Departments and officiated by Assoc. Prof. Mohamad Iqhbal alongside our Deputy Director, Assoc. Prof Izuanuddin. Throughout the year of 2022, the DEM has been actively involved in a myriad of programmes and had the opportunity to compete in a number of opportunity to compete in a number of national competitions. This year marks the first time that the National PreHospital Care Championship had a team represented by DEM UiTM. Held in Penang on 16th October 2022, our team of four Assistant Medical Officers (AMO) competed with 49 other teams from all over Malaysia, where they were assessed on their innovative skills as a first responder.
