Patient satisfaction on "UMP 1 Malaysia home delivery service" Hospital Putrajaya

Introduction: Ubat Melalui Pos or known as UMP 1 MALAYSIA is a new type of service being introduced in Hospital Putrajaya in October 2009. The services was introduced to enhance the quality service to the patients of this hospital. Patients are able to register through email/fax, telephone, MySMS DAPAT System, via online request or at the outpatient pharmacy counter. Every new service has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Objective: Our study is to investigate the patient satisfaction towards the implementation of UMP 1 MALAYSIA home delivery service.
Methodology: A set of questionnaires was prepared to survey on patient satisfaction towards this service. The patients were called and questions were asked through phone. Data were recorded, analyzed and presented in the form of tables and graphs.
Result: Most of the patients were satisfied with the service. However there are a small percentage of patients who complain about the long queue at the SMS MYDAPAT system and don't get the updated information of the system.
Conclusion and discussion: This system has been able to increase the quality and patient's satisfaction toward the service. However since this is a new service a continuous evaluation and improvement need to be carried out in order to sustain the best quality service of the Pharmacy Department.
