Study on the use of generic name versus trade name by the prescriber in Out-Patient Department Hospital Melaka

Our group choose this topic' study on the use of generic name versus trade name by the prescriber in out-patient department' as our project. This is because the topic very interesting and we can also help the physicians to improve their writing on the prescription using the generic name in Hospital Melaka.
Besides that, aim of our project is to minimize the medication error by identifiying the problems that are encountered in prescriptions pattern.
Actually, we want to identify the percentage of generic name and trade name used by the medical officers and also to compare either generic name or trade name preferable by the prescribers when write on the prescription.
At the first, we collect the data from two major sources are from personal interview with our supervisor and also the past prescription. The past prescription we are selected from out­patient department from January to December 2007.We take the prescription that during at peak hourly from 11am to 2.00pm.This is because, this time many prescription that the physicians prescribe to the patient. We choose 150 prescriptions randomly each month. After that, we total the data that we get and the data will be interpreted into the table form. Then the data will be transferred to the percentage from by using the formula.
Lastly, we create the graph followed the data that we get for our result.
From the graph we get the comparison between six month before and six month after the campaign.
