Cytotoxic drugs such as Epirubicin, Cyclophosphamide and many others have been found to be mutagenic, teratogenic and carcinogenic, So, the handling, preparation, administration and disposal of these drugs may constitute an occupational hazard.
The nurses and pharmacy who was handling cytotoxic drugs may be at higher risk of absorbing potentially harmful levels of these compounds.
This project is designed to identify the potential hazard associated with cytotoxic drugs, and to outline the important guidelines for the safe handling of cytotoxic drugs in order to minimized the exposure of these agents among pharmacist and the other health care personnel in Hospital lpoh.
