UiTM, Faculty of Business and Management (2021) The utilisation of games-based intervention [dawn of civilization (DOC)] in improving the English language proficiency of high school B40 students. Bulletin. UiTM, Shah Alam.

Abstract

This study explores the use of a Game-Based Learning (GBL) approach through the Dawn of Civilization (DOC) game to improve English proficiency among B40 secondary school students in Klang Valley. Students aged 13–17 participated, and their progress was assessed using the CEFR framework. The findings indicate that game-based technological tools can enhance language learning engagement and support better English achievement among students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
