Abstract
In recent years, the topic of indoor air quality has gained a great deal of public interest due to a growing awareness of its impact on the health, wellness and productivity of employees. Indoor air pollution is a major health concern nowadays, so in order to prevent most worsening condition of indoor air quality at office environment, monitored need to be done. The main objective of this study is to determine the level of IAQ parameter in office building. The important IAQ parameters considered in this study were the air temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, total volatile organic compound and respirable particulate matter. Measurements were conducted using TSI Quest EVM-7 Series Multiparameter Environmental Monitor. This study also carried out to find the differences of indoor air quality during office hour and non- office hour by using independent t-test analysis to see how much work activity influence the level of indoor air. Other than that health risk assessment also being conducts which to determine the extent and likelihood of negative health consequences of people who could be subjected to dangerous substances. The levels of indoor air quality reported in this study were within the acceptable ranges when comparisons were made with the recommended levels set out in the guidelines and standards provided by different nation and environmental agencies. No particular source of air contaminants has been identified from this study, but the office condition such as worker activities, building material, office furniture and equipment may have made a major contribution to the different levels of particulate matter, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and total volatile organic compounds in the office environment.
