Abstract

Malaysia develops each year in numerous technologies and innovations. This is also clearly apparent in the construction sector. Many different innovations and technological advancements have been developed over the years to assist in making the building process easier. Industrialised Building System (IBS) is an example of one of the innovations that can be observed. The amount of time needed to construct a building can be cut down significantly with the help of IBS. Plus, Malaysia construction industry is still lacking in waste management, rainwater harvesting and reduction of carbon footprint as compared to other developed countries. With the application of IBS, it has the potential to accelerate the adoption of sustainable construction and green buildings in Malaysia. This study aims for proposing an innovation product that meet the green building standards for UiTM Seri Iskandar Campus. This study was carried out by means of a number of processes which include research on current issues on precast concrete wall panel, comparison on several existing precast concrete wall panel, investigation of rainwater harvesting system and marketability of the innovation. As a result, in effort to make UiTM Seri Iskandar Campus a green campus through IBS, "Precast Concrete Wall Fountain That Generates Electricity" is proposed. The focus of the innovation is to enchance the thermal performance of a building in addition to generate free electricity.
