Interdependencies of stock market among Southeast Asia to Malaysia stock market: analysis based on medium capital

This research represent one of the comprehensive studies the effect and the relationship of the medium capital market of ASEAN country which are Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Singapore Straits Times Index (STI) medium capital market with FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index. The study used the Linear Model Regression which are Simple Linear Regression and Multiple Linear Regression in order to find the relationship between those market. The daily closing price for those markets is collected from 1st January 2007 to 30th December 2011. From the result, it show that there are positive relationship between Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Singapore Straits Times Index (STI) medium capital market with FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index. Thus, it means there are relationship of the medium capital market of ASEAN country which is Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Singapore Straits Times Index (STI) medium capital market with FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index. these result further our understanding of the relationship of the medium capital market of ASEAN country which are Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Singapore Straits Times Index (STI) medium capital market with FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index should be useful to regulator, economists and investor.
