Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyse the relationship between import cargo (IMPC) and transhipment cargo (TRANSC) towards export cargo (EXPC) based on container operation with reference of all ports in Malaysia over the year of 2016 until 2018. This study would like to determine the variables that may influence the number of export cargo (EXPC) which is import cargo (IMPC) and transhipment cargo (TRANSC). This study may highlight some of the export cargo (EXPC) volume and also its industry itself as a potential guideline for relevant bodies or authorities to improve ocean-based economy sector. The analysis that will be used in this study is descriptive analysis, regression analysis and correlative analysis. The findings of this study has shown a strong positive relationship between import cargo (IMPC) and transhipment cargo (TRANSC) towards export cargo (EXPC) based on container operation. Throughout the three consecutive years, we can conclude that import cargo influence and become the indicator that has strong correlation towards export cargo.
