Abstract

In a higher education institution, the success of a faculty does not solely depend on the quality of its students and lecturers, but also on the wisdom and integrity of its leadership. The Accountancy UiTM Faculty of Cawangan Kelantan (UiTMCK) is fortunate to be led by Dr. Nik Zam Nik Wan who not only excels in carrying out her responsibilities but also possesses a far-reaching vision for the future development of the faculty. Her experience as an internal auditor has shaped her into a meticulous and disciplined leader. Every decision she makes is always aligned with legal requirements and university regulations to ensure integrity in administration and academic affairs. This attention to detail is not a restriction but serves as a solid foundation for driving innovation, transparency, and efficiency in the governance of the faculty. Born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Dr. Nik Zam is the youngest of seven siblings. Now residing in Machang, she is a devoted wife and a proud mother of three children—one daughter and two sons. Her family has always been a pillar of strength and inspiration throughout her personal and professional life. Dr. Nik Zam began her career at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as a contract lecturer on July 1, 1998, at the Jengka campus in Pahang. Her hard work and commitment earned her a permanent position by July 1, 2000. In 2006, she transferred to UiTM Kelantan, Machang Campus, where she continues to serve with distinction. Dr. Nik Zam’s educational journey reflects her thirst for knowledge and excellence. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Accountancy from UiTM Selangor (2017), a Master’s in Accountancy and Information Systems from the University of South Australia (2004), and a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Studies from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom (1996). Her early education began at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ismail Petra, followed by Sekolah Menengah Wakaf Baru, MRSM Beseri Perlis, and A Levels at the Centre for Preparatory Studies, UiTM Shah Alam.
