A passing presence of Dr. Mohd Hisham Mahamud that resonates forever

Dr. Mohd Hisham Mahamud hails from Pulai Chondong, Machang, Kelantan. He is the eldest among four siblings, born to his parents. The son of Hj Mahamud Mamat and Hjh Maimuni Hasan commenced his primary educational experience at Sekolah Rendah Dato’ Hashim in Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. He then continued his secondary studies in SM Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuantan, Pahang. After SPM, he began his accounting education by passing the 2nd and 3rd level certificates of the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) at the Institut Perdagangan MARA, Melaka, with the hope of continuing studies to a higher level in the UK. Unfortunately, the economic downturn at that time thwarted his aspirations. Disappointed with the circumstances at that time, he decided not to continue his studies and chose to start working. His career journey began as an accounting assistant at CGU Insurance Berhad, a UK insurance company in Kuala Lumpur. In his second year at CGU Insurance, he decided to continue his studies off-campus at UiTM Shah Alam by pursuing a diploma in accounting, which required him to commute to Shah Alam daily. The following year, the International Islamic University Malaysia offered him a job at its Bursar’s Office. During that time, he still had to commute 5 days a week to and from Shah Alam for his diploma studies. He successfully completed his Diploma in Accounting in 2004. Then, in 2007 he decided to continue his studies to the bachelor's degree level in accounting as a part-time student with Open University Malaysia. In 2011, he successfully obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with honours.
