Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed content creation on social media, making it more personalised, scalable, and realistic. However, this power comes with a dark side AI has become a tool for generating fake content with alarming ease. From deepfake videos to fake news, AI can produce misleading information from just a simple prompt. This ease of creation enables the rapid spread of misinformation across platforms. Such content can influence elections, manipulate public opinion, and even incite violence. The viral nature of false information, often driven by profit or malicious intent, poses serious risks. It can lead to scams, cyberbullying, and social unrest. As AI continues to evolve, the challenge lies in balancing innovation with ethical responsibility and media literacy.
