Abstract
The issue of stress among teachers has been arisen since August 2005 by NUTP, but it is being negated by the government, and other educational associations. The study examines the effect of stress on the level of performance among teachers. The study is a quantitative and partly qualitative; and simple random sampling is done to ascertain the factors that contributed to the stress and its effect on the level of performance. The quantitative study has been identified that workloads, internal problems and external factors are the factors, which affect the level of stress. Whereas, in the qualitative study, role conflict among the teachers and non-performance of the students are the additional factors of stress. Other than that, the level of performance is not affected by the stress. It was found that the workloads are one of the main factors contributed to level of stress, and it was supported by the report publicized by NUTP recently. In addition, it is impossible to say that teachers have no stress at all, since all professions have its own level of occupational stress.
