Abstract

Road infrastructure upkeep is essential to the long-term viability and efficiency of transportation systems, which has an effect on both public safety and economic growth. The objective of this research project is to examine the significant obstacles encountered by road maintenance management in Perak State, Malaysia, and evaluate the existing approaches and tactics utilized to tackle these issues. The research methodology for the study is quantitative in nature. The study collected detailed information on the primary issues influencing road maintenance management in Perak State through questionnaire surveys. The obstacles that have been highlighted may encompass matters that involve financial limitations, technological constraints, worker capability, environmental concerns, and the general efficacy of current management methodologies. In addition, the study examined the tactics and procedures that are currently being used by the appropriate authorities to deal with these issues. This evaluation included assessing the effectiveness of preventive measures implemented, analyzing the use of cutting-edge technology, and assessing the efficiency of normal maintenance tasks. The study's analysis of these practices tries to pinpoint both effective tactics and areas in need of development. The results of this study will add to the body of information already available on road maintenance management, particularly regarding Perak State. Policymakers, transportation authorities, and other stakeholders should learn from the results regarding the crucial elements affecting the efficacy of road maintenance. The study's goal is to offer suggestions for improving Perak State’s Road maintenance procedures to support the long-term growth of the area's transportation infrastructure.
