Anis Abul Hasan Ashari: a special blessing to our faculty

Caring, polite, considerate, and high empathy, those characters are synonym with Anis Abul Hasan Ashari. She is not only a mother to her two sons and a daughter, but she is also a mother figure to many of her students. She goes beyond her role as a lecturer by demonstrating kindness and patience to her students. Those are character traits needed to mould and shape a student's personality. She realizes that the current generation of students face many challenges and if not dealt with properly, it can impact their academic achievement. It can even lead to depression and poor mental health. Knowing there is someone there who will listen to you, makes all the difference in the world and Anis wants to be that 'someone'. Realising how important the role of an academician is and her passion for teaching, Anis decided to resign from her job as auditor and joined UiTM in 2002. Her five years of experience in one of the 'Big Four' provided useful knowledge and a true spark of the professional world behind the theoretical basis taught to her students especially for the Auditing courses. When asked about her feelings throughout the twenty-two years of being a lecturer, Anis feels so blessed for being able to work under the same roof with so many good friends. She is touched by the respect and earnest efforts of her students. The sad part for her is to see the challenges her students need to face in the name of education. Anis’s advice to her friends in the faculty is to be true to themselves, be kind to others and sincere in all their endeavours. They must try their best to be positive even in the most negative of moments and have faith in Allah for He rewards our efforts not our success. She also wishes her dear friends the very best in their personal life as well as in their professional life.
