The ‘Sunshine’ of our faculty

Samsuria Abdul Rahman was born in Bachok, Kelantan. She is the third of eight siblings. Her father has unfortunately passed away, leaving her with her mother as her foremost supporter. She currently resides in Ketereh with her lovely children and beloved grandson. She earned her Diploma in Accounting from Politeknik Kota Bharu and furthered her education at UiTM Shah Alam, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Immediately after her graduation, she applied for a position as an academician at UiTM, the largest university in Malaysia, with many branches across the country, including East Malaysia. She was offered a position as a lecturer in Sabah, which is very far from her birthplace. However, during the interview, she requested to teach in her hometown. Fortunately, fate was on her side, and she was granted permission to do so. Thus, on January 1, 1997, she reported for service at UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Machang Campus. After her confirmation as a lecturer at this institution, she furthered her education with a Master's in Accountancy in UiTM Shah Alam. She returned to Kelantan in 2001 to continue her career in education. Her specialties are in the fields of Financial Accounting, Financial Management, and Computerized Accounting. She has greatly enjoyed her 27 years at UiTM, especially engaging in extracurricular activities with her students. One unforgettable experience was accompanying students on a hike up Mount Stong in Dabong. It was a memorable adventure, as she made it to the top of the mountain despite the hardships. Another memorable experience was a boat ride to Pulau Perhentian, where she enjoyed connecting with nature and bonding with her students outside the classroom.
