Tracing our alumni: Khairul Irwan Fikri bin Mokhtar

As students of UiTM Machang loudly and proudly say– “Machangster Everywhere” – let us get to know an alumnus of Fakulti Perakaunan UiTM Machang, Khairul Irwan Fikri bin Mokhtar. Fikri hails from Tanah Merah, Kelantan and is now working in the United Kingdom. Born in January 1997, he began his studies at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kemahang 2, and later attended a boarding school, Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Kajang in Selangor. Fikri then pursued tertiary education at UiTM Machang in 2015, where he earned his Diploma in Accountancy. An active student during his diploma days, Fikri joined the debate team, became the founder of a hair cream product (known as Smuck), and was actively involved in public speaking and entrepreneurship events Looking for new experience, he continued his degree at SEGI University, Kota Damansara. Fikri was selected as one of the winners for The Star Education Fund Award in 2019 and graduated with First Class degree for Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons). Fikri had always wanted to study abroad; and did not think twice when he was awarded the ACCA MARA Scholarship to further his studies in ACCA at the University of South Wales, UK in 2021. There, he was appointed as the International Students Ambassador and International ACCA Student President. Armed with good results and working experience as a Trainee External Auditor at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Kuala Lumpur, Fikri had received job offers from several companies upon the completion of his study in 2022. He decided to embark his career in the UK, and accepted the offer as a Finance Analyst with Hilton Worldwide: United Kingdom & Ireland. His office was located right in the centre of London, and the hybrid working mode provided him the opportunity to travel while performing his duties across UK and Ireland.
