A story of our faculty’s optimistic and productive lecturer, Associate Professor Dr. Maheran Zakaria

Associate Professor Dr. Maheran binti Zakaria is blessed with a husband who fully supports her passion in academic and career development. This couple’s family is complete with the presence of 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy, as well as 3 grandsons. PM Dr. Maheran has 10 years working experience as an auditor of Bank Negara Malaysia before she joined Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Kelantan. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting from UiTM, Master of Accounting from UUM and finally obtained her PhD in Accounting from USM. During her 28 years of service in UiTMCK, PM Dr. Maheran taught various courses, including Auditing, Ethics & Corporate Governance, Integrated Case Study, Management Accounting, Financial Management, Public Sector Accounting, Research Methodology and Taxation. She is very passionate about writing and conducting research. Many research collaborations with overseas universities were initiated by her, including University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra, East Java Veterans National Development University, Javanese Veterans National Development University Jakarta, Open University, Jakarta, and Qatar University. PM Dr. Maheran admits that her 28 years of service as an academician is filled with so many sweet memories. The whole journey towards developing academic excellence is very smooth and steady because the Faculty of Accountancy lecturers of UiTMCK are very united, diligent, and committed in contributing towards the University, the students as well as the community.
