A wise and knowledgeable personality who is the pride of our Accounting Faculty, Nor Asiah Idris

Nor Asiah binti Idris comes from Kampung Kota, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Her husband, Alias bin Abd Ghani is a retired teacher. This couple is blessed with eight children and ten grandchildren. Puan Nor Asiah was attached with TV3 Malaysia as the Assistant Manager of the Finance Department for five and a half years before deciding to pursue a career in academia. She served as lecturer in the Accounting Faculty for 23years before she retired on 5th February 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from University of Birmingham and Masters in Business Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA. Apart from that, she also has a professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Puan Nor Asiah's area of expertise is in auditing. She taught basic auditing at the diploma level (Diploma in Accountancy) and advanced auditing as well as internal auditing at the bachelor's degree in accounting level (Bachelor’s in Accountancy). She has also taught other courses such as Management Accounting, Strategic Management, Business Ethics, Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance. The quality of her work is undeniable. Aptly, she was awarded the "Best Faculty Lecturer" twice and has also received the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (APC). When asked about her experience at UiTM, Puan Nor Asiah is grateful for the many sweet memories she has with other faculty members who are like brothers and sisters to her, ever ready to offer a helping hand, difficult tasks become easy. She also treasures sweet memories with students who are diligent, polite, and earnest in their studies. She stays connected with those students through Facebook and is proud to witness their achievements. She also enjoyed her time as advisor to MemBACCs (Bachelor’s in Accountancy students’ society). She took part in a variety of student-led programmes, which provided her with many fond memories.
