Abstract

Attendance is an important aspect in every education instituition and workplace. Most universitites are still using the paper based attendance system. This thesis proposed a portable RFID base attendance system to replace the current method recording attendance. The RFID based attendance system revolves around taking tracking student absentees, since there should be fewer of them than presences. No record stored if they are present. The RFID based attendance system provide a convenient method in taking the attendace by providing RFID reader to uniquely identifies the studentcarrying RFID tag to record the particular absentees data. All of the input and output of the sof the system is controlled by PIC16F876A microcontroller. It is a hope that with further research and developmement the student record can be design and time tracking system can be introduced to the system so that it can fully implemented in universities.
