A book review: when the world smells of coffee

Mohamed, Bebe Norlita (2025) A book review: when the world smells of coffee. Bulletin. Corporate Communication Unit, UiTM Mukah Campus, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Sarawak.

Abstract

There is something deeply comforting about the scent of freshly brewed coffee—warm, familiar, and grounding. That is the essence captured in When the World Smells of Coffee, a reflective novel by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Lutfi Anis of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch. The story follows Damai, a doctoral student navigating academic pressures while building quiet yet meaningful relationships with his grandfather and his supervisor, Dr. Rajesh. Both mentors, united by wisdom and a shared love for coffee, guide Damai through moments of doubt, growth, and self-discovery.
