Pilot study: evaluation of disposable items issued out by integration store and utilization by each department in Hospital Seberang Jaya

Disposable items issued out by integration store and utilization by each department in Hospital Seberang Jaya has been analysed. Our focus in this study is to find whether the utilization of non drug items by each department tally’s with the quantity of the disposable items issued out by Integration Store. Our study was done at Hospital Seberang Jaya, which also own a Integration Store of their own. This study seems to be important to sort out the data of flow moving items recorded by Integration Store which are, monthly used of each department, quantity of disposable items indented by each department and the quantity of disposable items that has been issued out by Integrated Store to each department. Our study subject was all wards who indent disposable items from our Integration Store of pharmacy department in Hospital Seberang Jaya, Pulau Pinang from January 2012 until August 2012. We also gave a set of questionnaire for them to answer. The focus of this study was to identify non compatible factors of disposable items issued out by Integration Store and the usage of each wards in Hospital Seberang Jaya. Instead, this result will be fully used soon to improve the management of disposable items by Integration Store of Pharmacy Department and minimise cost.Thus, the government might reduce the big loss of cost as Integration Store has been optimizing their management of disposable items.
